OLIVER’S ARTISAN BREADS FIGHTS HUNGER
BY SUPPORTING
BREAD FOR THE WORLD
(San Fernando, CA June 9, 2008)
Oliver’s Artisan Breads, a baker of natural and certified organic
breads, will begin donating 10% of the profits from its retail line
of breads to Bread for the World, a non-profit organization fighting
hunger in the US and abroad.
Oliver’s has long been committed to supporting its community. “This decision to champion a prestigious, national organization that effectively addresses the root causes of hunger is simply a continuation of that commitment,” said Carol Head, owner of Oliver’s Artisan Breads. In addition to its financial support, Oliver’s will place a sticker on every loaf that carries the Oliver’s label: “Help Oliver’s fight hunger. We donate 10% of our profits from this loaf to Bread for the World.”
“In appealing directly to our loyal bread buyers, we provide Bread for the World with valuable marketing exposure,” said Head. “Our organic bread buyers -- educated and socially conscious -- are the kinds of people who may want to get involved with Bread for the World. We’re delighted to provide our brand leverage, as well as our dollars, to support this influential organization.”
Oliver’s Artisan Breads, located in Southern California, is a premier baker of fine European breads. Since 1994, Oliver's has provided natural, fresh-baked breads to the finest restaurants, caterers, food service providers and upscale grocery stores. (www.oliversbreads.com)
Bread for the World is a collective voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity far beyond the communities in which we live. (www.bread.org)
